Meiker: a short film festival

Meiker; space to show your work — not because it’s perfect, but because it’s yours. We’re celebrating short films that take risks, reveal truth, and reflect the voices that don’t always get the spotlight.

If you've got a story — rough edges and all — we want to see it.
Submit your film and be part of a night that honours bold, indie creativity.

Guidelines on submissions:

Category 1
~ can be previously filmed/ created
~ scene and/or film of 5 minutes max
~ can be a work-in-progress

Category 2
~ filmed in natural light only
~ scene and/or film of 5 minutes max
~ work of fiction/screenplay
~ filmed on any medium (e.g your iPhone, or camera)
~ any genre of your creativity whether documentary

Notes:

  1. The films will be screened on a projector with audio projected via front of house speakers.

  2. The submission deadline is 4th of October.
    If you are submitting past this date, please get in touch with us via email!

  3. There will be time after the screenings to connect with all creatives.

  4. Please submit to us via the Submission button below, alternatively email us your film with the following details:
    Film title
    What inspired you to create this film and/or describe your short story
    (in less than 500 words)
    Film credits

  5. International submissions are welcome!

FAQs

  • The evening will begin at 5pm where you can settle in with a drink and nibbles. There will be seats to get comfortable with friends and enjoy the short films.

    Tickets are $10 each person which covers your seat for the night.

  • You can drive to Meik Studio, where there ifs free street parking close-by (Allen Way) and Dural Mall carpark.
    Alternatively, you can commute via some local buses from surrounding suburbs.
